What is now The Fairgate Inn began as a dream in 1987 in the hearts and minds of the owners, Jack and Christine Foyt. The beginning realization started in 1998 with the purchase of three acres on top of Prune Hill in Camas, Washington. It was not until February of 1999 that construction actually got underway. The building and completion of the facility was nothing short of miraculous when you consider that Jack, who was the designer as well as general Contractor was also the General Manager of a large wholesale company with demands and responsibilities. The project was a team effort so Christine took on the responsibility for all interior product and decor. In may of 2000, just fourteen months after the construction began, the 11,500 square foot Fairgate Inn was open and ready for business.
